Colin and Jenny's Pure Mad Asian Travels
Highlights so far: streetfight, monsoon, and chicken with cashew nuts.
The streetfight was terrifying, yet nothing at all like a Glasweigen 'are you lookin at ma chips?' affair. No chips were involved at all, not at any stage. Also, there was no half hour exchange of slurred insults to be follwed up by failed punches and 'am so sorry mate, i luv yooo'.
Instead, it was over in seconds with one clinical punch and an impressive flykick to the nose. It was all extremely unsettling, but we've saved a tenner or so on getting into the Muay Thai Boxing arena.
The monsoon was mad. One minute it was quite nice, next thing we know the sky is black and we have horizontal rain. It made an otherwise tedious boat journey down the River Tungnfdssd pretty interesting.
We got off the boat in Chinatown and wandered around fashioning bin bags until we were suficiently soaked to give in to a tuk tuk scam. We ended up at the "Thai Authority of Tourism" which funnily enough wasn't on the map and didn't have any information about the bus timetable. They did know however where we could get a cracking deal on a "Rolex". Waste of an afternoon.
The absolute highlight has to be the chicken with cashew nuts in the Je Hoy restaraunt. It was pure nice.
