Hey guys, easter island was amazing, and already feels like ages ago! We're on a beautiful beach town in peru, called mancora. I'm going to do another blog on this section so as not to let deb down after her exceptional blogging!
Deb, sounds like you and vicky are having an awesome time. It must be such a relief to have some money coming in and the summer on its way too.
Mum, we're eating like kings most days, don't worry! Its so cheap here, i've had so much amazing sea food for about £3 a time. We love the peruvian dish lomo saltado (stir fried beef and veg with rice and potato) and ceviche/cebiche (raw fish in lemon juice). Easter island was too pricey to eat out much, and there wasn't a lot to shout about with the options. There was sea food or beef, but we cooked at the hostel mostly, with such limited supplies! the food hasn't been spicey really so i'm really enjoying it.
We have a 9 hr trip tonight to get to guayaquil then another 4ish to get the coast of equador. Its known as the worst border crossing in south america, so we're booked onto a bus that will take us through the procedures with a guide, and there are several 'gringos' going from the hostel so we feel a bit nervous about it, but are hopefully prepared!
Now we have a laptop i really want to try the skype option for phone calls. Can you guys sort that too? Then we can chat for free (and we have a web cam so you can admire my awesome tan!
Lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Deb, had any meals that were so good you could lick the box out recently????!!!!! miss you dude xxxxx

yo Ludechris how you going?!! Flashpacking is definitely good fun... me and Vickie went to the casino for 1 cocktail each with $10 each and got home around 5am absolutely smashed wolfing down kebab with $8.50 each change!!! Haha Before we went out we made videos of us dancing to michael jackson and moulin rouge - the boys are away this weekend!!!
I have work at the restaurant tomorrow and then we're going to cotton on to abuse my lovely 30% discount! woooo Vickie's cousin is staying with us this weekend aswell and wants to shop. We have just watched a scary movie and so now i'm a nervous wreck of course!!! We're making crepes though and have sister act next so should be all good.
Anyway, Easter Isand sounds amazing and looks it too - think that's what Geelong beach was going for?! haha I'd have loved to have seen the chanting ladies! The Melbourne tram wierdos are still keeping me amused though you'll be glad to know.
It actually looks like you had some sunshine....can it be true? Haha It hasn't stopped raining here - do not know how Melbourne can complain of drought seriously, it rains...ALOT!!! grrrrr
Good to see you're still on the look out for crazy signs aswell, good work guys!
Meant to text Chris that a guy on the street was singing ring of fire a couple of days ago - I promptly returned to my flat and played A boy named Sue of course, love it!
Well, love you lots my lude (suppose chris can have a little bit too! lol) take care of yourselves both of you, missing you loads and loads so make sure you keep this up as i'm enjoying it already, as is mum I can see.... Hey Mum!!
Flashpacking across the universe!!! (to the tune of startreking across the universe, in case you didn't get it!)
ps....It's jandel time! burn burn burn ring of fire... lalalallalalalalalalala
Mum
Wow it certainly looks as if you have landed in yet another new world. The photos remind me of tin horse highway as you obviously keep seeing another and another of these statues and they keep getting more impressive!
Not too sure that I would want to share a beach with a decaying horse either so its sounds as if you made the right choice. Was all the food on the island seafood or do they keep some livestock or is it mostly vegetarian made into currys? You know i like to know what you re eating.
Looking forward to the next blog on Peru. Keep safe and i love you lots mum xxxxxxxx
