The other day we made a visit to Kerin and Emmys land to see them building there house, it started with a long train ride to Marasesti on an old train which reminded me of a james bond movie!! We also met some interesting caracters and some who smelt better than others.

We arrived in Marasesti to see a relitively well kept train station although we had to be picked up by Kerin as we were a little concerned of the amount of gipsy population and the risky business it is bringing a shiny silver camera to take pictures!! Which was my fault really as i hadnt thought too much about it, but even so we managed to take it in the car to see them both. Emmy and Kerin explained that they were in the middle of building and that the first line of the bricks for the building had just about been laid. They were nice enough to let us lay one ourselves!!

They then led us round to the middle of the gipsy neighbourhood to see the mission they were building for the gipsy children. The streets were quite bad but we didn't realise quite how bad things acctually were until we started walking and saw the children playing in the dust and people buliding there houses out of cow dung and mud. There was a very real feeling of being unwelcome and we were generally looked at with a kind of lothing and disgust, but Kerin explained the work they wanted to carry out and showed us some land which they had bought to build a church center right in the heart of the neighbourhood to bring the children basic washing skills like brushing your teeth and cooking skills. All these things they need and have not been taught by there parents or they have just been abandoned. They also are trying to teach christian values and preach about the bible and about jesus, this is one of the hardest missions i have ever seen and my hat is off to them for all they are trying to do.

They are also asking for students or helpers for there mission and want people who are willing to help out teaching these basic needs to the poorest of Romanias gipsy population, for more info i can point you in the right direction.
