hello everyone! were back in cape town now.. we hired a car for 3 days with the aim of riding ostrichs in outdschoon?! or whatever the hell its called.. the amount of confused looks weve got when weve tried to say where were going.. anyway yeh we missed the turning for route62, it wasnt sign posted as route 62 but the map we had was for the whole of south africa so wasnt very specific! we ended up going to wilderness though, and got sent-via tourist info- to 'The Beach House' which was beautiful-set on the hillside overlooking the beach. we had surf lessons there which were exhausing but really good once you managed to catch a wave! the roads out here are a bit crazy at times though.. you can be drivin along a 4 lane road and then 2 seconds later its turned into a 2laner with very little warning! the road trip was certanly an experiance, we nearly died of heat stroke in our 4 gear little toyota Tazz after driving about 600km in it! all to see ostriches which we didnt see until today.. and in all honestly it would have been better if we didnt .. i hated it, the stupid things werent even tame so it just felt cruel. i enjoyed driving more than going on the ostrich detour. dad youd love doing route62 on your motorbike, we should really do a bit of a south african tour the roads are alot of fun! clifford may disagree when im behind the wheel, but its a hire car its there for throwing around! haha captain slow and practical in the pasenger seat "emma slow down we dont want the car to overheat or break down" (bearing in mind i can see the perfectly normal temp gage and the cars filled with petrol so theres no worry there) :) hehe oh we have a rsponse...

right! as im sure david and annette are aware ems drivings... erm... well, we were doing 135kph around a corner - which happened to be on the top of a mountain, which happened to have roadside cliffs so high you couldnt even see the bottom! and as a passenger - been thrown around in a rusty tazz on the 2 wheels at your side over these cliffs - I wasnt keen on my chances! so... i suggested she ease off thre throttle and let the porsche go past! captain slow! haha i just want to live! anyway she wants to keep babbling....

im actually done babbling.. but my drivings not that bad.. we know how he likes to over exagurate :) hes just a nervous passenger!

anyhow next time you hear from us wel be on safari.. so wel let you know how that goes-so excited! weve already seen a couple elephants on the side of the road (in a gome park) which again was quite odd as i was just thinking how the roads reminded me of spain.. i spent a good 10 seconds staring at these two big rocks before i started shouting elephant like a derrranged 2 year old..! oh and we saw baboons on the way back today too- again playing on the road!
