Here I am in Aguas Calientes the village at the bottom of Maccu Pachu and I have got the two bob bits. Im going up there tomorrow and I best take a extra bog roll with me. There could be an intreasting photo for all the package tourists who have suddenly appeared from nowhere as I am seen carearing though the place to the nearest bog. Arequipa and the colca canyon were amazing the canyon in two times deeped than the grand canyon in america and we hiked down into the bottom then back up over two days. My legs are killing from the uphill bit.
At the bottom are some really cool thermal baths that are 39 degrees and are naturally heated by the volcanoe that is at one side of the canyon so that relaxed my legs a bit. One thing that has been confirmed to me over the last couple of days is that japanease tourists are all as mad as hatters for example here is a true story, I am sat in a cafe in ollayanasomethingorother when a coach pulls up and about 25 japs get off all with the designer hiking gear proffesional walking sticks the lot, Now i am sat there in my hitek specials , old work jeans and a free tshirt that i picked up from a bar in thailand. All these japs start snapping away in the village square where nothing really is happening when a 6 year old local kid falls off his bike. Now this kid needed a bit of simpethy as he started screaming but all he got was 25 cameras pointed in his face and blinded from all the flashes.
At this point I thought enough was enough so like the hero I got up and picked the poor sprog up only to become the new centre of attention and as a result I am now a big star in japan as I will be shown off to 25 familys as the scruffy english man at the centre of there holiday snaps. Then as if to round it all off one off the women walkied up to me bowed then in really bad english said nice to see you and promptly walked off. I hope I see them tomorrow at maccu pachu cos im just gonna follow them round and have a good laugh.
