Hello everyone! Sorry it's been so long since my last blog update, no clue why but I suppose it just depends how cheap internet is!
So, all is well our end. We are in Brisbane now, arrived here yesterday afternoon and it's awesome. So nice to be back in a big city and so have spent the last day and a half shopping! The last entry I wrote was back in Airlie Beach, we had a lovely few days there and managed to get a pretty amazing trip out to the Whitsunday Islands. Travelling on the 'Ocean Rafting' boat, we went at pretty crazy speeds to each island, clinging on for dear life! Mental boat ride and slightly worried insurance wouldn't cover if anything were to happen! Thankfully we were all fine, though a man was flung from his seat at one point! We managed to see dolphins and turtles which was speacial. Snorklled some amazing reef and saw quite possibly the most beautiful water in all the world from one of the islands. Amazing day and much fun had. Spent that night on the Greyhound bus travelling over to a place called Agnes Water/1770, which reminded me of an Australia Polzeath. Good surfing and bodyboarding beaches and one afternoon was spent riding around on 'choppers' which I believe are pimped mopeds! Can you image myself and Carly on these!? HILARIOUS and so much fun!!! Drove all abound the towns, saw kangaroos in the woods and watched the sun set. Such an awesome afternoon indeed and I am now very excited to one day own a motorbike!!
Rainbow Beach was our next stop, which again was a very nice few days. From Rainbow Beach you visit the famous 'Fraser Island' (the biggest sand island in the world), we decided on the cheaper day trip and had much fun. The day was spent in our 4x4 bus jumping sand bumps along the waters edge! Many nice lakes and good rainforests to see. From Rainbow Beach we headed further down south to a place called Noosa (I am so confused with all these places, takes a while for me to picture each town as they are all so similar!). Noosa was amazing, a very very pretty lake side town, fallen in love with the place and I think if all else fails with work further down south, I shall drag Gary back up for a trip there! Much fun visiting Austraila Zoo (the home of the late Steevie Irwin) on a day trip from Noosa. Great place to go, held an alligator, cuddled a koala and fed kangaroos! Really good day indeed.
So, that brings me to now...we arrived here in Brisbane yesterday, had my hair chopped off this morning and have spent the day shopping! Will do some sights tomorrow and then move on either Friday or Saturday to Surfers Paradise. Hoping to be in Sydney in just over a week as Carly has a flight to catch on the 13th. Crazy, crazy stuff and can't believe how fast it's all going!
So there, that's my story so far. All is very well indeed and I hope it's the same for you all back home too. Keep me updated with how you are all and don't forget I have both the Oz and UK mobile with me. Take care all and love you lots, Claire face xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
