Not just an airport - except when you're stopping over, then it's just an airport...

It's not really worth writing anything about this, except to get the blog entry about Hoi An off the front page, since I haven't been there in a year an a half!

So, new decade, new countries to see! After an awesome month at home in Perth sucking up as much beach, JJJ, Little Creatures, friends, family and skin cancer as possible, it's time to b***** off again!

I've just landed in Singapore - only for a stopover, but it's good to be in another country and trying to work out wierd currency again. I escaped for some "fresh" air to the cactus garden, swam through the humidity across to the bar, and am now drinking my $9 half pint of Tiger beer (I'd forgotten how expensive Singapore booze is) while surrounded by smokers, listening to a Sinaporean cover version of the latest X-Factor winner's single, and jet engines - all while trying not to drown in sweat and a lung full of humid air. Aaah... how's the serenity...? Good to be back in Asia, I've missed it.

Next stop, Mumbai India, home of Bollywood, bombings, slums, Shantaram, and I'll find out what else when I get around to actually reading my Lonely Planet.
