It was a nice feeling this morning as we took down our bed knowing it would be the last time we would have to this little chore in the mornings. We tidied out the van, giving some of our left over food and clothing to the old Maori bloke next door on the campsite.
We dropped off the campervan, getting a little compensation for the hassles we had in Queenstown. It was strange to feel the weight of our backpacks (we accumulated an extra 5kg worth of stuff in Oz and Nz), but we welcomed the familiarity and looked forward to living out of a backpack for the next couple of months.
The flight to Fiji was probably the worst take off w have had on our trip so far, made worse when they announced that they were going to play 'Get Smart' - a movie we wanted to watch, as the inflight movie only to then be told that they changed their mind and were now playing Miss Pettigrew! Not happy! Fortunatley the cabin crew asumed that Claire was an alcoholic as they kept on randomly placing glasses of wine in front of her for no reason at all, at one point there were 4 full glasses of wine sat down on her pull down tray. Obviously w didn't complain too much.
The first thing we noticed when we landed in Fiji was the heat! It hit us as soon as we stepped out the door.Nice - Just what we wantd! As we walked through the airport ostacles we must have heard over 20 friendly shouts of 'Bula!' (Hello in Fijan)!
It was darkwhen we got to our hotel in Nadi so we didn't see anything of the city. The hotel was the typical budget affair but was mor than adequate. We also ran into Charlotte as is now the custom for countries we now visit! She had just spent 4 days on the mainland and is heading home tomorrow. An early night tonight as we got ready for our 3 weeks of island hopping tomorrow!
