Today we leave Livorno and head for Venice. It was a mission to find the car hire, 1 hr walk with our luggage. Picked up our Fiat Panda and headed for leaning tower of Pisa. It was bit daunting driving on the wrong side of the road & sitting in the left side & changing gears with my right hand but had mastered it within 15 mins. ( Kim was a bit freaked by it). After Pisa we headed for Venice. (the panda cruised at 140km/hr on the autostrade (highway) sometimes reaching 160klm/ hr to overtake the slow cars. Arrived Venice 5 pm. Take ferry to the Rialto hotel and settle in. Went out for a fantastic meal (seafood, scallopine of veal, cheese platters, coffee with cognac etc). The waiter ask me if I want a small or large beer & of coarse I said large, well it was the biggest i've ever had ( see photo) equal to 4 cans, but I finished it. Kept the beer mug as souvenir.
