It is December 1, 2012 and I have just arrived in the coldest place on earth! The weather here in Oslo is treachorous, the roads are all icy and the wind is blowing like crazy. I am sure that my warm clothes and layers will keep me warm through out my stay here. So far I have not had to use many of my coats or sweatshirts so far on my trek across Europe. When I arrived at my hotel and it is very warm inside, it would ruin my time here if something was wrong with the heating system. I most likely would have to go and find another hotel with heat. As I was driving through town in a taxi I had seen a restaurant, that kind of looked like an american Starbucks, and it was extremely crowded. Luckily, my hotel also has its own coffee shop by its lobby. The place that I am staying in is a five star hotel called the Crand Oslo Hotel. Even though the weather is supposed to be the worst that Norway has had in year I still plan to have a wonderful week here. I am going to meet up with some people that I had met over the internet. They are very nice people that have promised to help me through Norway as my translators and part time guides. They are a very nice couple that have been informing me on some of Norway's culture and language. They are also going to show me some of the oldest part of Oslo and Norway. I will tell you guys where the next part of my journey takes me. Wish me lots of luck with this cold weather.
