After a quiet day teaching, and thanks to the other staff for putting on Morning Tea, we are now sitting in the Business Class lounge at Perth Domestic Airport. Sue, in her ultimate wisdom ensured that we made a bid for the seats with points and, thank you Qantas, we are now comfortably ensconced with spring onion, rocket and green chilli pizza (well, I am, the rest went with ham and cherry tomatoes.
The drive to the airport was only slightly traumatic as Joy almost side-swiped a car as she was trying to follow Garry down Tonkin Highway at 100kms. When we got to the airport we had to deal with the 15cm curb. Sue was certainly unsure so I just reached in, picked her up and deposited her, gently, in her wheelchair.
Check in was fine, with bags all booked to LA and no problems with the wheelchair. Matt and Katie however had problems with the security baggage check; Katie thought she was allowed no metal items so frantically ripped out her earrings. Matt found a drink that Tilly had given him and frantically sculled it.
Now all 3 of them are on their phones.
