Not a lot today, truly not a lot. Breakfast, tick. Lose power for hours, tick. Not leaving until after lunch, tick. FRUSTRATED BCAUSE I CAN’T DOWNLOAD MY BOARDING PASS!!! Tick, screw up, throw in bin, kick over bin…. well, you get the idea. Boring and frustrating. I have been able to download my boarding pass for every flight with LATAM. Now it is with a different airline, AVIANCA and it won’t work. Tried numerous times including turning phone off and on. Multiple times. Checked code. Checked code entered correctly. No luck. As it is the flight to Bogotá and then onto Rio, I do need to be on it. Spent some more time in the garden trying to get that perfect shot of a hummingbird, had a light lunch and paid the bill.
Javier arrived and stated that it should all be fine, there should be a boarding card for me. Long stressful drive back to Quito, dropped off at airport and then waited in line for ages before finally being allowed to check in and did receive both boarding cards. The flight to Bogotá was uneventful and short, and then it was time for Colombia. Not such a nice airport. The first restaurant we came to, everything was done by a QR code, which, given that we only had 30mins of free wifi, was causing problems. We couldn’t get anything to order. Frustrated, and with no help from staff, we left. The second restaurant also had a QR code, but you could order at the counter, which took ages to get done, and ordering two small beers, were presented with two glasses, each contains 500mls. Apparently the large ones were 1L. Boarded the flight to Rio and proceeded to TRY to sleep, unsuccessfully for the next 6 1/2 hours.
