::: I'm coming to the end of my 2 month stay in Palmer Road, a so called unincorporated area of Prince Edward Island. My view to the north is an eventual beach, but in the way is a potato field and the woods. To the south is the famous Palmer Road Church across another potato field. To the east is a brook and more woods and the west is the dead end drive that my house shares with an Americans summer cottage and an old farm house. It is desolate, green, and smells of lupins.
Prince Edward Island is Canada's smallest and greenest province. Cradled on the waves of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Island is known for the vivid colours of its gently rolling landscape. Prince Edward Island is surrounded by miles of sandy beaches and red sandstone cliffs and is sized just right for touring. Visitors to the Island return home not only relaxed and refreshed - they often claim to have been transformed, which leads us to wonder "What if the World Had Been to Prince Edward Island?"
The place that I call home, in all it's beauty, Prince Edward Island truly transforms me. There's just something about the scene of red soil and greeness mixed with the scent of salt water that does a person good. It's a place that allows me to catch up on the fast life I tend to live else where.
The place I was borned and raised is the place I can lay my weary head. I am very proud to call this beautiful island my home, and the closer I get to it, the louder the waves call me. I don't know what they tell you, but they tell me to rest and relax.:::
