Today we took a day trip to Macau, which is about an hour away from Hong Kong by ferry. It is really tiny, but about 600,000 people live there and it seemed like they were all out and about! When we arrived we took a bus straight to Senado Square, which is the cultural centre of Macau. Today we had a bit of a lie in to fully recover from travelling, and then we set off to explore Kowloon, which is across the harbour from Hong Kong Island. We started off by getting the Star Ferry across the harbour, our boat was called Twinkling Star and it only cost $2.50 to get across, which is about 20p. We've made it! After 2 full days of travelling, (which were long!), we are now in Hong Kong. The flight over was ok, the seats weren't great but we had hundreds of films to choose from to pass the time. When we finally got to HK we were pretty shattered, so we just got on the bus to our hotel and had a rest. We have only 1 day left in Guernsey! We've finished work, and are now both officially unemployed for the forseeable future. We've also had an amazing last weekend, celebrating Andre and Jo's wedding and then having an early Christmas dinner to make up for the one we'll miss this year. So it's 3 weeks until we leave Guernsey, me and Joel have been planning this for ages and have spent the last year going out as little as possible to save as much money as we can for the trip.
