Day 4: Wed, Feb. 12, 2013 - After checking out of Bluegreen Club 36 in Vegas, we took the Megabus to Riverside, CA (a 5 hour - comfortable ride). Linda Ramage (and Sally) picked us up about 8pm at the bus station. We four went out for yummy Mexican food (Linda's treat) and they dropped us off at Best Western Plus Costa Mesa hotel we had booked earlier that day. Good night about 11pm.

Day 5: Thurs., Feb. 13, 2013 - Slept in, checked out, and Linda scooped us up to go over to her place. We all walked down to Newport Landing restaurant on the waterfront, had a beverage and bite with 4 of Linda's gal pals including Sally. Beautiful view of boats and bay. Then we 3 headed out to the Newport Bay Nature Preserve. Very educational indeed. Afterwards we got to visit the local YMCA that Linda belongs to and see her son James, who was training for a triathlon in the pool. After our day with Linda, she then drove us to the train station in Orange, CA where we took the Metrolink train to San Clemente, CA. Mikey got off work, picked us up at the train station when it arrived and drove us to his place. We 4 ran out to a local Chinese takeout place and came back to their place to eat it. We relaxed, drank wine/beer and watched movies for the evening.

Day 6: Friday, Feb. 14th, 2013 (Happy Valentine's Day) - We all went to a dog park with Arya in the morning. Stef had to work all day, so we 3 went to Del Mar Ocean to a dog beach with Arya. Sat on the beach and saw a whole load of happy pups jumping in the surf. Arya was having the time of her life running into the waves. Later when Stef got off work, we took them out to Rookie's Bar for wings and drinks. That night we went to the hot tub and pool at their condo complex. Icy cold pool water but Chuck jumped in it anyways after sitting in the hot tub, he almost passed out with the extreme temperature differences.

Day 7: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2013 - We borrowed Stef's car for the day and headed to Dana Point to meet with Rick Michaels and Sarah Cabral for a day of sailing. We took in the ocean, whale-watching, beverage consumption, and general shenanigans. Rick chartered the boat and there were four others aboard (sounds a little like Gilligan's Island crew). We were out until sunset and Rick played his lil guitar. The weather was perfect and sunny all day. Fun was had by all. Afterwards we went to the Dana Point Yacht Club and got the once-over from the members about who let us in. We didn't stay too long, just a beverage, then said our thanks and farewells before driving back to Mikey's about 10pm.

Day 8: Sunday, Feb. 16, 2013 - An early 7am flight from John Wayne Airport. Stef took us since Mikey had to work. We planned a layover in Denver so we could meet up with Bill Shrum for a burger and beer for a few hours to catch-up. Last leg of the trip was Denver to Detroit and we were home safe and sound by 8pm. What a fun, whirl wind vacation. Trains, Planes, and Boats (no car rentals this time). Yeah Baby.
