My last full day in Hong Kong! I really like Hong Kong. Maybe not love it, its very concrete and large swathes of it are characterless city, but I do love how on top of everything the whole place is. I've had to move hostels, and I'm now spending the last two nights of the trip in a sweaty 14 bed dorm with no aircon - and all 14 beds are occupied. What away to see out the trip! It was easy enough making it here from Yau Ma Tei, just 1 change on the metro but it took a while trying to find the entrance. I headed out to Sai Kung this morning, by metro and little green bus and twas a tad disappointed. Sai Kung was packed, it's the October break and you could barely move for the thronging crowds. Sai Kung is a wild peninsula in Hong Kong's east but it's main town was a tourist trap. Headed to Macao today! Macao is the Portuguese version of Hong Kong, though it was Portuguese for several hundred years more than Hong Kong was British. Taking the ferry to Macao was very easy, just taking the metro the ferry terminal and boarding the next ferry. You still have to pass immigration as both these Special Administrative Regions have seperate immigration policies. Macao is split into 2 key parts.
