Am finally in Chisinau!!

I actually really like the city. Came with low expectations, now it ranks high among my favourite European cities.

The journey over was surprisingly painless. The sleeper train was more comfy and safer than feared. Was up to see sunrise after a decent kip of about 6hours. After a McDonald's breakfast was on the bus to the border, all smooth sailing!

We did get a puncture 5minutes into Moldova...but this was soon resolved and whilst I was half asleep, it was enjoyable seeing the countryside of Moldova.

After finding my very nice hostel, had a stroll round the government areas of the city. All very Parisian in some ways, wide boulevard similar buildings, but a lot less people! And a lot cheaper!

Really interesting history museum too. Detailed how Moldova was occupied twice by the Russians and it's best days were back when it was part of Romania. Still, these days with world geopolitics that's a pipe dream.
