Just to let you fine folks know that I am absolutely fine, the earthquake didnt impact me at all. Our group was in Beijing that day and we didnt feel a thing. Think Chengdu may be off our itinerary so will miss the giant pandas but next time, next time. Im just glad we werent there 3 days earlier than scheduled. 8,500 fatalities it said in todays paper. Eek!!

Hell, I'm tempted to launch myself up there just to prove you wrong! Darned college kids, get a degree and they think they know everything... Thomasin has her Latin GCSE 2moz if u have time to text her, know all about that, I got Latin O-Level, Latin Higher, then a 2nd O-Level when I failed my Latin A-Level! Oops!

I was not visible from space, and neither is The Great Wall. Apparantely that is a myth. It was fantastic tho - knocked spots off the Inca Trail although that couldve been because our walking trip this time was 3 hours rather than 4 days!!! ;)

CHRISTIE STANFIELD HAS WALKED THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA TODAY! (well, some of it!). Question is, was she visible from space? If YOU know the answer, let us know!

I too hope for better things for you in Bejing cos Shanghai has ruined your spelling! Harry James applied for a post at the new Globe Academy they are setting up in London, first & only interview before he graduates AND HE'S GOT IT - respect! You take care, love you lots xxx

Still all sounds amazing Christie. Re your proposed Asian massage tour... just don't jump into a taxi in Bangkok (as I did at your age) and tell them you want to go to a massage parlour - experience tells that you'll end up in a brothel, with the taxi driver peering through the slats in the door. Nasty!

I know, China just around the corner, Shanghai and Beijing, two cities Ive always wanted to see. Ill tell you whats scary though between 28th May and 8th November I am a completely free agent, can go WHEREVER in south east asia and for however long, no commitments, no flights booked. So if anyone wants to get googling and make some suggestions feel free!! So far some beaches in Vietnam and jungle treks in Laos are tickling my fancy..
Dont worry Dad I am keeping up my round the world BEERS list which is presumably the most important! Favourite places? - too difficult!!
xx

Butterflies don't go out in the rain either, Christie, what can I tell you? Lovely to have a nice long chat with you on Thurs; sorry I had to rush out but I made it to the hairdressers in Chelt in 20 mins which has to be something of a record! Were all the lights GREEN, I hear you ask? Dunno - they were just a blur ..... JUST KIDDING, OFFICER!!
Stan
The stories about the bath houses are such a hoot!
So its on to China on Saturday -what busy bees you folks are.
Time to update the 'favourite places' list? And perhaps start the 'best and worst food' lists, as you seem to have had some wild ones. The herring will be here when you come home..
Sal
Don't think we've been introduced young man but you sound like a nice lad so you can call me Sally. Christie will tell you I am definitely not the "Mrs. S" type (I hope!).
