We went from taupo to a place called waitomo where they have many caves. We decided to go black water rafting where u ride down natural waterways in deep caves on a rubber tube!!! So we went down to the visitors centre and went off with the guide. I was the only bloke with about 9 other girls....hmmm We squirmed into our wetsuits and then donned hats with lights on and big wellies and trampled down to this cave.. We had to squeeze thru tiny holes in deep caves to get to the waterway and saw glow worms on the way!! awesome!!! We got in the tube and floated slowly downstream and then the bloke fired off a gun and taadaaa all the gloworms on the roof of the caves glowed up and all the other girls screamed as we went down the stream!!! we had to turn the lights ourt and the water was freezing. We jumped down 2 waterfalls and then carried on - down a 8 m slide which was great and squeezing under tight gaps in the waterways, a bit too tight if u dont like small spaces but we were fine. We eventually got to the end after a great time and they even gave us some tomato soup!!! After this we went back to the hostel for a relaxation bit. but i thought i'd go for a sprint session on the tennis court the hostel had. Shame to say that today i cant walk now since i havent run in ages! We are now off to Coromandel Peninsula nd Northland for a bit.
