After an 18 hour bus ride puarto madryn was a welcome sight. as soon as we got there we hired a car and decided to go out to a small town on the coast so we can do a bit of whale spotting in the morning. 

 the whale spotting was out of this world!! we saw a load of right whales on the surface, some doing full breaches other just lifting their tails out, all were fantastic one even came so close it bumped into out boat, this thing was about 3 times the size of our boat as well!! after the whales we went driving to other spots to see elephant seals and penguins.

the next day we drove south to see the biggest colony of penguins outside antartica. really good, i even nearly ran over a couple driving into the place and after that we went to a place where a group of welsh people setteled and kept the language and traditions, so we went to a traditional welsh tea house for cakes! i´m putting on the pounds now! after this it´s off to el calafate for the glaciers.
