Whats up in Jesus' awesome name! It just so happens to my 24th birthday today and I find myself in the little rural town of Three Springs four hours north of Perth. I have now been living and working here for just over a week. This particular blog entry though is now about Three Spring but mostly about my incredible journey home and how Father G blessed me along every step. For those of you who read my last blog on the difference between Christianity and Religion would of read that I was due to visit my cousins in Perth for ten days before heading back to the Emerald Isle for three weeks. I will pick up from where I left off at the Moses' house in Auckland.
First of all I want to thank the Moses' family for the hospitality they showed me for the few days I stayed with them in Auckland before I flew to Perth. They are an amazing God fearing family and I pray in Jesus' awesome name that they are blessed many times over for their kindness to me. Once I arrived into Perth I had my cousins collect me from the airport. My mums younger brother Chris and his family emigrated from England to Perth almost two years ago. I was a little careful in my first few hours with them not to be all in their faces about how awesome Jesus is but by the end of the night I found out to my delight that Chris and his family were all Christian. I was blown away by this considering that my Mum presently doesn't believe and I naively thought that Chris would be in the same boat. But it was quite the opposite actually. I thanked Father G for this blessing and could clearly see how he was leading my along the right path every step of the way. ON my third night with my cousins I visited one of the local Churches called Oceans Church where Len Butner was finishing a teaching he had been doing on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Len was one of the two awesome men of God who lead the week of the Supernatural that I attended back in February in NZ. I was thrilled to catch up with Len and even more thrilled to discover that Oceans Church was an amazing church on fire for God with an incredible evangelist pastor leading them. I told Len that I was hoping to go to Kenya and Tanzania with him and Rodney Francis at the end of August to help as a volunteer as they taught on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Len was excited about me joining them on the trip and told me to email Rodney straight away as spaces were limited. I had felt that Father G had told me two weeks earlier that I would be going to Tanzania. I left that night both very encouraged by Len and happy as I had found an awesome Church in Perth for me to fellowship at and to bring my cousins along to as they had been out of Church for several years.
During the rest of my time in Perth I brought my cousins along to Church and they really enjoyed as did I and they have been attending since. I visited my friends in Three Springs and organized that I would take over my friends two jobs at the beginning of July when she finished and I returned from Ireland. I also visited YWAM Perth three times. I can honestly say that I have never in my life felt so welcome at home in a place that I have never been to before. On one of my visits there it was the Friday night public meeting. There is over four hundred young on fire for God Christians there and we all worshipped together I honestly heard angels singing for around ten minutes which had me openly crying for a number of minutes. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. We received a great teaching that night on trials which I was really able to relate to through the journey I had been on for the six months leading up till then. Some of the main points were how Father G gives us trials to strip away self reliance so we can rely more on him, they bring us closer in our relation ship with him and with every trial that we pass comes amazing blessings which I can testify to. I met a number of cool YWAMers while I was there and one night I was honoured to hit the streets with them evangelizing which I really enjoyed. I had an amazing experience that night to have spent a number of hours with an aborigine man called George who once he sobered up gave his heart to the Lord and invited Jesus to rule and lead in his life. After amazing days in Perth it was time to finally return home.
After a long flight I finally arrived in Dublin where I was met by a good friend from Uni called Ed Fits. I love Ed as he is such a generous person with a great heart and willing to help any of his friends at any time. That night I went out in Dublin and met a combination of my school friends and Uni friends. This was my first time hitting a pub or club in six months and I was finally ready. I had an awesome night and shined the glorious light of Father G into many of my friends' lives as they all had many questions. They were all a bit blown away by my happiness and freedom but that's what Jesus blesses you with. Through knowing Jesus I have been delivered of that fear of man that most people struggle with. I have been set free as I know that what is inside of me is greater than what is in the world. I know who I am and why I have been created. I am a product of my creation and Father G created me weird and therefore I am happy to be weird. It is written in the Bible that we are called to be peculiar and peculiar mean to be unique or have a weird sense of humor. That is me and that is what we should all be. Discover the truth and true happiness will follow.
There had been many rumors amongst my friends since I became Christian on how I had lost the plot, joined a cult and many other random things. But once all my friends met they knew that none of the above rumors were true and that I was actually happier than I have ever been before and although many of my friends would openly tell me that they didn't believe they were simply happy that I was happy. That is when you know a true friend and Father G has blessed me with many and I thank him for that and ask him to bless all my friends. The following day I got the train from Dublin to Cork where my mum, brother Finbarr and sister Emma all met me in the station. I was so happy to finally see my family! My older brother Will and dad were on a sailing trip to Spain and they arrived home a few days later. My first ten days home were spent almost totally with my family as my parents and sister were due to go on holiday to Portugal for ten days during my last two weeks at home. I had arrived back to Ireland with hardly any money and this was a concern to my parents as they didn't think that I would be able to afford my flights back to Perth at the end of June. I admit that I was a little worried also about this financial issue but at the same time I knew that Father G had lead me home and that he would proved for me to get back to Perth at the right time.
On going back to Ireland I had hoped to fly back to Perth with my longboard surfboard which I had received for my 21st and was my most treasured possession. Yet one morning about a week after I arriving in Ireland I awoke with Father G clearly speaking to me that I would have to sell my board to be able to afford my flights back to Perth. Initially I resisted this idea but I knew I was been tested on materialism and I obediently went about looking to sell my board over the following week. During my first ten days in Ireland I had the opportunity to bring most my family to Church twice and they really enjoyed it. I brought them to Grace Church which is a big Church in Cork. They all enjoyed it as did I although I intended on checking out some of the other Churches while I was at home also. I must admit that around the time that Father G spoke to me about selling my long board I started feeling a bit down in the dumps and started to worry about a whole number of things. I thought I would not be able to afford to get back to Perth in time and I also suddenly realized or more like I was told that I would not be going to Africa with Len and Rodney this time round but that I would work alongside them at a different time. Suddenly getting bombarded with all these negative things I decided it was time to visit Sue my neighbor who I had already met and prayed with once since arriving home. Sue is an awesome women of God, a real women or mercy and true prayer warrior. She has been such a support to my family as my parents are good friends with her and found out at the beginning of February that she was also a born again Christian. She had been supporting my parents putting them at ease throughout my time away. But as I was going through this sudden down spell which I felt I had been delivered of I knew Father G was guiding me to visit Sue. On visiting Sue I went about explaining what I was going through and how I was feeling. Together we prayed that Father G would bless my finances, provide the way and lead me back to Perth in his timing. We both prayed very powerfully and I was moved to tears by it. Straight after the blessings started. Sue immediately offered me work for the rest of that day to paint her deck. While painting her deck my brother called me to inform that he had a few days of work lined up for me. Then that night I agreed with a friend to sell my windsurfing kit to him and another friend agree to buy one of my short board surfboards. Father G came through magnificently and I awoke the following morning about two weeks into my stay in Ireland never feeling so on fire for God in my life. It was like he had picked me up out of the dark to place me on a stronger foundation than I have ever been on before. He also made it clear that I would not have to sell my long board and that I would raise enough money without having to sell it. I had to email Rodney though and let him know that I would not be making it to Africa this time round. He was very understanding and sent me back some very encouraging emails.
I have to cut this particular blog short as I must shoot off to work. I will fill you all in on the rest of my awesome trip to Ireland in the next few days. Above I have outlined the first two weeks of my visit and in my next blog I will fill you all in on my last two weeks. It was during my last two weeks standing on my new found foundation with Father G that amazing things started to happen. Till next time friends. Blessings of peace and love.
