Alph d'Huez is covered in snow and limited with wifi. Amazing views and great coffee (not as good as Starbucks though).
My trip began on the 8th of this month. I took a train from London, after my interview with Disney and a dash to St. Pancras I bordered a train I did not book as mine had closed it's gates two minutes before I arrived at the station.
I made my way to Paris, Nord. Took the underground with its double decker busses and morbid big-city complexion people (oh how it reminds me of London), safely and arrived at Paris Lyon for my next train which delivered me safely, warm and tired to Grenoble, France.
Met fancy-pants outside the station. He was waiting with his new Citreon CX, French classic.
We made our way to Alph d'Huez and arrived round 1am.
The resort is great. It's not as cold as it'll get and there isn't as much snow as there will be but I'm already stunned by the frozen winds and the growing snowfall.
It's great though. I can't wait to buy my ski pass next month. I get full reign of the gym on the resort, open to the slopes and get free hire of ski equipment since im a seasonaire.
The people here are great. There is a mixture of nationalities. Making nights out more fun then I could imagine. My French speaking powers are improving and I feel confident ordering coffee ad hot chocolate, greeting guests and just random catch phrases. Problem is I tend to mix in German! How weird is that?!
Saving though. Need to save as much as possible for the treck across the globe after Disney. Already have a set budget and finance goal.
Can't wait!!! :)
