Hmmmm Costa del Vietnam anyone???? Maybe not that bad, but we turned up at 6am on Vietnam Day & most of the rooms had already been taken by Vietnamese peeps having a long weekend, which meant the rest of the rooms weren't cheap. The beach was nice & for a small price you can hire a lounger in a cordoned off area where the vendors can't get you!! Some nice bars too.... Onwards & downwards

Ok, so after a pleasant 5 hour bus journey down the coach the helpful bus driver decided to take us on a tour of whichever guesthouses were paying him the most!! We thought we were much better & decided to set off on foot to find somewhere. After about 20 minutes we ended up almost back where we started! It did have a pool though/ And a happy hour. Wow!!!! That's all that needs to be said for this place. It's absolutely beautiful & a definite must for anyone thinking of travelling to the region. After a 4 hour minivan ride we got to Ha Long city & saw our first glimpse of the bay. Best idea is to grab a look at the photos when we finally manage to up load them... Hanoi. Where do i start.... A guy in the airport in Vientiane gave us a brochure for a guest house & it seemed ok. They would even collected us from the airport (about 25km away) for the small fee of $2 US. So we checked out the room & it seemed ok, up 5 flights of stairs but it was fairly cheap.
