After our diverted flight and coach trip we made it down to gorgeous weather and a fantastic beachside apartment at Main Beach. All the guys here are very buff and tanned too! We spent a couple of scorching sunny days in the sand and had breakfast in a surf club (yes they really do exist!) - but the weather soon turned sour and torrential rain followed. Yesterday was the last day in Melbourne before hitting the Gold Coast, so we went on the Great Ocean Road trail along the coastline. We visited several great viewing spots on the way but also trekked to a waterfall in Otway, went Koala spotting near the Lighthouse, done a tree-top walk on Otway Rainforest and finished off the day with a romantic sunset at the Twelve Apostles! Yesterday we went for a bit of climbing up Hanging Rock on the outskirts of Melbourne, a volcanic mound of rocks! Can't believe we actually made it to the top (Dave was in flip flops and Deirdre in high heels lol). The view was breath-taking and worth the climb. Now this morning we're on the way to the Great Ocean Road, a stretch alongside the coast on a cliff-edge!

Have spent the past few days exploring the city of Melbourne - you can see why so many people emigrate here! The city is full of sky-scrapers mixed with palm trees, beaches and lakes. Now off for a weekend of road trips outside of the city - Hanging Rock & the famous Great Ocean Road.
