We decided down the Great Ocean Road in our Automatic Astra...we took it fairly easy as its technically possible to make it in a day, but we spent 3days on the road...the first day was dedciated to driving and we made more than half of the distance...we even passed a sign saying 'Littlehampton'...which caused a mini celebration...yes!!! Was a pretty cool drive but most of it was long stretches of road, with similar scenery and not many cars about...plus it was the first time i'd ever driven an automatic, so that was an experience in itself
We stopped off at Port Campbell for the night...had a proper mission to get fed that night and ended up having a proper posh dinner seeing as it was the only place that was open. The next day we drove down to the sights of the Loch Ard Gorge, named, as most things are in Australia, after a ship that got marooned on the coast and the Twelve Apostles. These were a series of rock formations by the sea and were a pretty awesome sight. We also stopped off at a secluded beach which had the biggest waves ive ever seen.
We stopped for another night in Torquay, where Ed originally hails from back in England...so he felt right at home. This part of the drive was pretty special, as we were actually on the Great Ocean Road, which was built by returning WWII verterans and carved from the cliff face...i think i scared Kez with my nonchalant driving style.
