Hello!

Welcome to the blog of Tom & Tara's Tour of China and Japan 2017!

After another year teaching in Dubai and a very hectic last few weeks moving apartment, leaving school, 40 degrees + heat and Ramadan, we have finally made it! School is out and we are on our way!

As I write we have just boarded the plane in Hong Kong and are just 3 hours away from our first destination, Beijing! As if we are going to China, with each other... what difference a year makes!

Personally I am really looking forward to travelling with my best mate and making more amazing memories together! This will probably result in less blogs and pictures but it is the best feeling in the world to be sharing this experience! That's as soppy as it's going to get this year... I promise! :)

We are still waiting to take off from Hong Kong after a 2 and a half hour delay but we have just enjoyed a free coffee and croissant in the airport as well as watching the rain pour down for a while... something we haven't seen since Christmas! We also spent the time planning our first few days a little more.

Tara is the Queen of the Lonely Planet Guide Book and as usual I have my own spreadsheet and dossier of every last minute of the trip! Together we are a great team and have everything covered! :)

We are extremely excited for the next 3 weeks but have a few nerves about China. Once we get going I'm sure we will be fine :)

I am now going to hand my phone over the Tara for edits and checking! Haha!
