Tim & Cheryl's Honeymoon!
Hi Sar, Jo, Rita, Ma and Arthur,
We are having a great time. It is Thursday and it is raining. We stayed in a camper car park last night at the foot of this hill town. San Gimignano. We had dinner up here last night. Great italian food. Osso Bucco, tagliatelle, bruchetta - sounds like home! They do it with much richer flavours than we do.
This is a famous tuscan town. There are lots of tourists. Thats why we can get internet access.
We spoke to an Austrian and South African couple at dinner last night. The tables were very close together so it was easy to chat!
We caught a bus up here from the camper car park at 8.30am. WE woke up at 8.10am. We are still waking up! We think we will spend the day here and then go onto Florence for the weekend.
There is a good big camper park up there close to the city. I want to go to the grand art gallery with the statue of "David" in it. We will be able to email you from Florence.
The scenery is magnificent, olive groves, vinyards, crops, farm houses that are 100s of yeras old, castles, medievel towers everywhere. Absolutely everywhere.
Dad and mum - for your interest - When they build new houses, they use all the traditional materials. Big beams, timber lined eaves, terracotta tiled roofs. Stone walls. Everyone had grand fence outside their houses. Big iron gates, stone and iron. Up here its all very tasteful. No white corinthian column look alikes. Not like what we see at home in some italian houses. They dont use aluminium facias like we do. Its all real, built by craftsmen. So they must be very expensive to build.
How is school everyone? Has it rained. How are the roses?
We hope you are all having as good a time as we are.
Lots and lots of love Cheryl XXXXXXOOOOOOOXXXXXX000000
