Hi :D

So... we are currently in Cusco... happy to reassure everyone that we have not been caught in the mass flooding and we are not stuck at Machu Picchu... it turns out that the bus strikes that we encountered in Lima were actually a blessing in disguise!

Tonight we are heading to Copacabana in Bolivia... we are both definitely looking forward to the cheapness since we are both getting down to our last times.... thank goodness I have Studylink payments to look forward to :)

So we left Lima on Saturday and the bus ride ended up being 25 looooooong hours because of the flash flooding around the Cusco region, a heap of the roads were washed out... pretty scary when we were crossing them! In one place the whole road had been washed away and a part of the mountain dug out so traffic could pass... insane!
We arrived in Cusco and quickly upped our clothing because it is.. well basically F***ING FREEZING! We ventured out for food because the bus food doesnt quite cut the mustartd and we got caught in a bloody rainstorm...

Luckily for us, yesterday was a nice day because we wandered about here and there and did some market shopping! Amiee is now the proud new owner of a llama jumper and I of an alpaca blanket. Happy days! We had to invest in a multitude of accessories to fight the cold - scarves, leg warmers, gloves etc.. and now we are wrapped up warm and should see ourselves through until we arrive in the kinder climates of Argentina!

ummmm... I have a terrible memory so I really can't think of anything of great excitement to share with you all! We have had a very quiet last week because of being stranded in Lima and now with the rainstorms here it basically called off all activity - except market visiting! Hopefully Bolivia will bring a little more news for you all...

It is crazy to think that we have already been gone for 2 months... and that I start Uni in about 5 weeks or so... nerves are starting to kick in! eeeek...! I am excited though... and definitely looking forward to getting to Santiago and settling in and all that jazz... and especially looking forward to being able to cook! yeeehaaaww!
