This was our first stop in thailand, it was a really nice little town which hardly any western people visit so all the locals kept waving at us and saying hello! We were only here for one evening and one morning so only had a wander around the markets as we were all dead tired from a long days travelling, and then in the morning we went to see a shadow puppet museum and show. - i forgot to set the date for this one i was here monday 15th - 16th jan!

i really liked chaing mai, it was quite like bangkok in that there were quite a lot of backpackers here and there was loads to do - i wish we'd have had longer here! while here apart from shopping lots at the night market i went bamboo rafting down one of the rivers, there was 3 pairs of us (two on each raft), the guy steering ours was abit crazy and keft trying to get us in the water! winnie and i took it in turns to steer the front of it - which nearly ende...

here is where the elephant conservation center and first elephant hospital is. we spent most of the day there and got to ride them! we also visited a tribe village about an hour away from the elephant hospital. it was in lampang we stayed at homestay accomodation which was really nice! some children from a local school had come to play us thier traditional instriments which they tried to teach us how to play! also they did some traditional dancing after dinner wh...

while here we stayed in a small guest house in what seemed like the middle of nowhere! the second day we were here we took a 20 min drive and then we hired bikes to have a look around the various temples in the area - it was then i realised i hadnt had to ride a bike in years but after about 10mins of wobbling i managed to get the hang of it again!! luckily there was a swimming pool near our guest house where we spent the rest of the afternoon lounging around! i ...

we arrived in bangkok at 5am and my first impression of the place wasnt good! although after being here a day or two you realise that the time of day totally changes what it is like. as we arrived first thing in the morning nothing was going on and the place looked dirty and had such a funky smell you didnt wanna breath! but after the market opens and the streets start getting busy i loved being here and the shopping was amazing! theres such a good atmoshpere her...
