Ah it feels good to be back on the road again! We're having a stop off in Krabi tonight before getting the boat to Koh Phi Phi tomorrow. Excited! Finally I'll get to see the famous 'beach'.
Ko Phangnan was pretty good even though it rained every day apart from the day we left! We thought after seeing it twice in the pitch black when we came over for the Full Moons we'd get to see a bit more of it's beauty but none of the beaches look beautiful in the rain! We'd been told by a few people to go to Had Salad beach, we just made it, got a few pics, then the rain started! Shame because we could have quite easily have topped up our tans there all day. Honestly there are hippies everywhere....most of them on drugs, dancing in shacks on the beach! The night we witnessed that we also almost got eaten by a crazy Rottweiler. Thank god his chain didn't go any further or we would have been munched! Stupid dog made us run into the sea and get soaked! Got to give a mention the best named bar ever.....Cocktails and Dreams. Shame David was the barman and not Tom Cruise. He did do some tasty fishermans shots and mojitos so it wasn't all bad! We did meet a guy from Edinburgh there too which was cool, no need to talk slow and proper. I also dropped the scooter that night but not with chelle or me on it so all good apart from a few scrapes and a small repair bill it had to be a brand new one did it!
After a sunny ferry with Gavin and Rose, a bus ride that was supposed to be an hour but ended up being nearly three we arrived in Khao Sok National Park, where we've spent our last four nights. Absolutely loved it! Such a stunning place. Our bungalow at Smiley was perfect. Looked right onto huge cliffs, loved wakening up in the morning to such a gorgeous view. It felt so good to get some trekking done after having did no exercise for god knows how long! Saying that our 5 hour trek was hard going, especially when you've got monkeys throwing bits of bamboo at you, leeches sucking your blood and got a sore butt after slipping in a stream! We thought it'd be a good idea to hire bikes the day after, every tiny hill was killing my thighs! Needless to say we didn't get very far until we turned round and got a scooter instead! We ended up having a boozy night last night with our new French buddy Yannick and forgot to return the bikes.....sorry Thai bike man! ;o)
Time to put our feet up!
Lots of Love
Dean & Chelle xx
