Day two in sunny London saw me losing my Oxford St-ginity. My purchases have left me rather happy, with my touristy Union Jack singlet and floral leggings and what not.
Then somehow, I had the inspired idea of just wandering off, I was walking down a main street when I saw a great looming mass in the distance that looked pretentious enough to be a landmark. I ventured from the city and Soho down through Green and St James's Park to Buckingham Palace, the Royal Mews and Parliament House (where Big Ben is), and down to Victoria Embankment where I had a stroll along the River Thames to have a peak at the London Eye.
With sore feet and heavy bags, I began to wander back in the general direction of Russell Square. Getting quickly distracted by the National Gallery, I wasted a few hours there, lingering especially at Van Gogh's work and getting little tasty samples of his, Monet's and de Zurbaran's fine pieces.
They make me happy.
Now I'm back at the hotel and have spent the past three hours watching BBC for kids, it far surpasses any drivel produced in our country, or America.
Also, I bought a straw hat,
straw hats are cool.
