10 hours later and we arrive in Hervey Bay. We were only here for a day because we decided that we needed to get down to Brisbane ASAP if we wanted to fit in Melboune (which we really wanted to as we watched the Grande Prix and it was 37 degrees in Melbourne). It was sort of like a stop over so that we didn't have to do a full day on a coach!
We decided to do our washing in Hervey Bay. We literally emptied out our bags and then went to the shops. We looked wonderful in our washing day clothes. It was a glorious day, the sun was shining and our washing would be ready for us to hang out when we got back. It should dry quickly in this heat.
Guess what happened? Yep, it rained. So we have two washers full of wet clothes, none of which can be tumble dried. I learnt my lesson in Uni to check if they can be as I kept on ending up with jumpers that would fit a 5 year old! So we put our clothes on the bunk beds as we had managed to get a dorm to ourselves, things were looking up. The sun came out, hooray! We managed to get everything dry and ready to pack again before we had to head out on yet another 12 hour coach journey to Brisbane, leaving at 5 in the morning!
Well we did manage to see the beach at Hervey bay and it was very nice. It seemed like a quiet kind of a town and there was no one around. I think it could be to do with where our hostel was. It was a nice place though. I only wish we could have gone to Fraser Island but we couldn't afford it as it was Whitsundays or Fraser...in hindsight I know what we should have done...damn you hindsight!
