Sydney! Our final destination in Australia. We finally arrived after a 12 hour drive at 12.30 at night so spent most of the next morning in bed, bearing in mind this is the first time we have slept past 9am...only to be told by a cheeky German guy that we sleep a lot. Victoria, a new territory, a new start! No rain, only sun and an absolutely amazing time! We packed everything in to this trip for sure. We walked around Melbourne for the day and enjoyed the city sights and the beach at St Kilda before chilling in a cool little bistro on the street all night with a few carafs of wine. Well Brisbane is a charming place. What a nice little city. It is strange though as it is the first place we have been in a while where we have seen people in suits and people who seem to have jobs! We did some very cultural things in Brisbane. We walked along the river and through the Botanical gardens. We went to the museum and art gallery and attempted to get into the science museum but it turned out we were too late. Whilst in Brisbane it was St Patricks day...

10 hours later and we arrive in Hervey Bay. We were only here for a day because we decided that we needed to get down to Brisbane ASAP if we wanted to fit in Melboune (which we really wanted to as we watched the Grande Prix and it was 37 degrees in Melbourne). 10 hours on a coach and we arrive in Airlie Beach and what a great change of scenery. We immediately felt more at home and warmed to the town. We spent a night in a dorm and then headed out to sea the following day on what we thought would be the trip of a lifetime.
