We arrived in Brisbane after a flight from Christchurch, got picked up by my dads first cousin Jason and his wife, they kindly let us stay with them for a few days and we had a lovely meal out for dinner with my great aunt at a steak house! Was so nice to meet everyone and lovely to see lalage again. We then headed down to byron bay and surfers paradise but after 4 nights down south we came back up to brisbane and spent 2 nights in the centre where one day we spent walking around the city - it's so clean and modern and such a nice city! We went to southbank where they have made a man made beach although the sun was out it wasn't quite sunbathing weather although a few people were, we had a nice but rather expensive meal looking out onto brisbanes river. Unfortunately we wern't in brisbane for the lions game but I still got out my rugby shirt my dad has bought me and took a few snaps around the city centre. We also spent another night at Jason's and the following day we went to Brisbanes small Australian zoo where we spent time playing with the kangaroos and seeing to koalas and other Australian animals although would have loved to have gone to the famous Steve Irwins zoo that was a bit on the pricey side. We still had a lovely time in Australia even though we had to cut our time short, will both be coming back here in the future!
