We arrived in Siem Reap after only a short 8 hour journey and getting ripped off by an extra $10 for our visa! We found a great hostel not that far from the main backpackers area and went out with a few friends we'd made from the bus. We left Koh Toa early in the morning to get the ferry over to Koh Samui and had to lug our bags round the whole town trying to find somewhere to stay. With a little sunburn on our shoulders the walk was horrendous! The first thought on Koh Samui was it was a bit strange and dead, not many tourists and looked like it was majority a locals town. The first leg of our journey to Koh Toa was the 12 hour sleeper train. The top bunk like the Arctic and the bottom a sunbed so both sleeping in the same one, which was horrendous. Arriving in Bangkok and having to get a taxi from the airport was a mission, we did not realise Thai people understand absolutely nothing!
