Hi people
We headed south from Caye Caulker to Placencia, which was a gruelling cross country bus journey, but well worth it. Placencia was a laid back, placid place with the best palm trees yet and a deserted beach. We didn't get into the town until 7.30 and had to stay in the grottiest room yet, a real dive with cockroaches galore! We spent the next day just chilling by the beach and relaxing in the sun.
The next location was San Ignacio (or Cayo), another gruelling trip (not as bad as last time) saw us switch buses at Belmopan (Belize's Capital although you wouldn't know it form seeing it!). We found a fantastic hotel, which is our cheapest yet at 14 US dollars per night! We spent the afternoon taking in a local football match of an awful standard, and thenpopped out for some dinner.
Unfortunately we received some dreadful news yesterday. Charlie's nan is critically ill in hospital and this has led to us making the hard decision to come home for a few weeks, we are due back in Wivey on Thursday 18th April and head back to Belize on the 3rd May.
Thank you for keeping up with our blog, and we may see you around in a few days, if not keep checking the log in the coming weeks for more news.
Kev and Charlie
