The long journey from Melbourme had taken it out of us so we were in no hurry to do much for a couple of days. After rest I took Steve into Adelaide to look around and chill. Adelaide is a pretty city and very inviting but does lack the energy that exists in Sydney or Melbourne but has its own charm that I love. It is very laid back and the people are fair dinkum (genuin) which is why I have made the place my second home.
Next day we toured the McLaren Vale wineries tasting some of the best wine in the wrld with my Aunt and Uncle as our tour guides which was good fun and a great way to get pissed for free!
A couple of days later at the weekend, me and Steve were invited to a 21st Birthday party at a far out place called Meningie which we passed through on the way from Melbourne. The drinking started at 11am and included getting some sun (because I'm apparently still too white) and by the time we made our way (4pm), we were pretty tanked. When we got there it was catch up time for Dave as he had to work earlier and with a $1000 bar tab we needed to get going.
The night ended up with Steve nearly getting sacked from E.ON, him pulling some wrongen and passing out in the back of the ute where he slept the night. For Dave he couldnt walk he was so pissed and it was left to me to throw him to bed and Yvette to undress him whilst I watched the Australian Open on tv where Hewitt was still playing at 2am!!!
After that we didnt do too much and Steve was soon on his way back home and hopefully to a job. I stayed back in Middleton looking after the animals and planning my next adventures which now include Tasmania and Borneo.
Last week I built a pig pen to give myself something to do and work out a bit before I made way to Tasmania for a 2 week trek round.
Yesterday I arrived in Hobart (Tas) for my 2 week journey and see some real natural Australia and more of Australias convict past
