Got there and were very confused by the masses of choices of transport and the size of the city. Nevertheless me and mary, the travel experts that we are becoming reached our hostel on the tram and got to see lots of Vienna on the 15 min journey. Stayed at the Wombats, the base, which is the original, near the tube station of Westbanhoff. We got up graded from a 6 bed dorm to a 4 bed dorm without even asking, and payed the same! Went for a walk along the main shopping strip just down our road and came back to meet our room mates. They were two guys from Switzerland but only one spoke english. Invited them to the bar downstairs that we were gunna check out but, sorry to say this, they were not the most interesting of ppl and it the convo could not flow at all due to the language barrier. We went on the internet, kinda an excuse to get away. Watched a fotti match and met some Canadians. Seemed cool and said they were meeting some girls later and some of their room mates and we were welcome along. The night was interesting. The girls lived in Vienna and oviously thought it would just be them and the canadians. We were wearing the same as we wear in the day, and what everyone wears but they said straight away that we were totally unsuitably dressed and we we v silly to got out like that! They were in full linin dress and cardigans up to their neck, hehe. Oh, maybe it was taking off our 'sexy' walking sandals and replacing them with flip flops that did it! The girls took us to an empty R and B and hip hop club, where the few ppl there were only guys. Weird, after what they had said. We loved the music and despite having drunk basically nothing were dancing away, but to the girls disappointment. Though we couldn`t be bothered to keep it up, so we went with the two guys room mates, some Canadian italians, to find the night bus home. Told the girls we were leaving, to which they were eagar to follow, but when we said the two candian guys were staying, they jumped at the chance to stay. We had an exciting and good night sightseeing tour of Vienna led by the Canadian italians (the other canadians room mates). Then had collapsed with exhaustion in bed after a very very busy day.
