Ceri's Big Adventure!
We left Auckland at rush hour my legs were soo shaky driving out in a huge van when you look in the rear veiw mirror it looks miles out the back window.
We made it to a little town to stay over night and left early the next morning to get to the Waitomo Caves where we did a black water rafting tour of the glow worm caves which was more relaxing looking above at the glow worms compared to white water rafting. We were guided by two rather large Mauri men who were quite funny, the only scary bit was jumping off a 6ft waterfall backwards but it was fun.
We drove on to ROTORUA next.
This place has a funny smell about it, It is a town built on thermals springs, all the drains have steam coming out of them. We stayed at a thermal campsite next to the lake which was beautiful at sunset. We went to a thermal tourist attraction and saw the bubbling mudpools, thermal lakes which are like bath temperature and geysers, one blew while we were there, its a really errie landscape like another world.
In rotorua we went to the nicest place to eat called the fat dog mmmm mmmmm it was yummy but I could not quite finish it.
Lake Taupo
We stayed here for one night.
