After having spent so many days on a perfect island, the busy beaches of Sihanoukville, although beautiful, were too busy for my liking. The line up of bars in the background, vendors trying to sell everything and anything and the pamphlets being handed out took away from the relaxation, so we booked a party boat trip to the island of Koh Rong Saloem for the next day. After a full day in the sun, after a late night full of free drinks, getting on the boat took effort. I don't know if it was the sun or the 'dance music' that turned me off, or both, but I just wanted to nap at that point.. and I did just that! Slept through the party and woke up to another small white sanded beach with a few chairs and a couple hammocks, I was ready to be lazy all over again. The breakfast buffets were delicious, the beer was cold and there was always something to do, or play with. This one guy we met on the boat had great games like devil sticks, poi and balls for juggling, one girl even brought her hula hoop! It was great to get lessons and it helped pass the time (cant wait to get to Bangkok to get a few toys of my own now). When I thought things couldn't be better, I found out the day before I left of another beach on the opposite side on the island, it was deserted, the water was deep, great view and overall better, a good finding for the last day. Then once again, I had to force myself onto the boat back to busy Sihanoukville. It's always sad to leave but nice to think about all the places I have to look forward to. Now up North to Krong Koh Kong for some trekking in the Cardamon mountains!
