After checking out and eating breakfast Lisanne and I decided to go to Cong Caphe and drink our favourite coconut coffee as our goodbye.. It was a quite sad moment.
Lisanne went to get the bus to Ninh Binh while I was waiting for my bus to arrive. I was going to Halong Bay.
It took quite a long time to get to Halong Bay.. When we got there we were told that we couldn't get on our cruise. Instead we had to sleep in a hotel on the island Cat Ba. We were all really confused and frustrated about it, but there was nothing to do about it.
The hotel was fine, just like all other hotels..
After lunch we went to a viewpoint upon a hill. It was really beautiful but not as nice as the cruise would've been. Some of us wanted to see a little more of the island, so we went to see if we could find one of the beaches. The way there was really beautiful with a view over the bay with all the fishing boats. When we got to the beach the waves were so big that we couldn't swim.
After dinner we went to grab a beer at a bar close by. It was really nice to just sit and talk. At least until it started raining. It poured down. The streets were made into rivers and people had a hard time saving their stuff from drifting away. It was insane!
We had to run back to our hotel through the rain - it was quite fun except for the part where all our clothes was soaked through in no time.
Next morning it was still raining, so we waited all day in the hotel for the bus to take us back home. Thanks to the weather the trip was very different than expected.
