This is what greeted us at the beginning of our jungle trek across the island. The biggest spider you've ever seen. I promise you. The photo does not do it justice. It was the size of your hand and the web it spun could have trapped a small child. The rest of the trek was a bit apprehensive after seeing that. Cece and Davey...a bit on edge...

Are the trees really big or is Cece really small..? The choice is yours ;) To the right was a troop of monkeys and to the left was a lagoon that we're pretty sure was home to something big. Temperature was quite nice given it was a tropical forest. We saw the biggest ants in the world on the forest floor; thankfully the jungle juice insect repellent did it's job. Cece and Davey.

Jungle trekking on Palau Perhentian Island. By this stage we had already spotted a monitor lizard and the world's largest spider. The rest of the 45min hike (in flip flops I might add) would prove just as eventful.Although it would seem by this picture the immediate danger is Cece taking a bite out of me!
