Hi Everyone!

Sorry it's been so long since I blogged, I've been really busy! Since the last blog I took a bus to Hoi An and spent the day there - pics already uploaded. Next I took a flight to Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon which was great. Plenty to do in Saigon, not least of all the War Museum - what a heartwrenching place. I had no idea how bad the Vietnam War was for the local people. If like me, all you know about the war is from American movies then have a look into it, you'll be appalled!

On Monday I went for a boat trip on the Mekong Delta which was very interesting, seeing how the river people live. Unfortunately the internet connection and speed here in Cambodia isn't great so I probably won't be able to upload more photos until I arrive in Bangkok on Sunday.

Yesterday I took what should have been a 3 hour bus ride from Saigon to Phnom Penh but with all the faffing about and border formalities it took 7 hours. We went to a traditional Cambodian restaurant last night where I tried fried tarantula - a bit chewy and not much taste actually. Photos to follow! :)

A depressing morning this morning as I went to the Genocide Museum and Killing Fields from the time of the Kymer Rouge. Another episode in history I didn't know a great deal about until this morning and I was horrified. Very sad.

This afternoon I had banana & chocolate spring rolls for dessert and they were delicious! Up early tomorrow for a flight to Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat.
