Hi Everyone,
I guess this will be our last blog entry seeing as we will be home the day after tomorrow! Can't quite believe how quickly it's all gone....but we have had a truly awesome time!
We had many adventures in Thailand after our last entry from Bangkok - we will tell you all about them when we get home (so much to tell!) We arrived in Tokyo on Saturday morning extremely tired after leaving Koh Tao on a boat at 2pm, and arriving in Bangkok 14 agonising hours later at Koh San Rd! Needless to say we didn't feel entirely comfortable standing with our backpacks at 4am on Koh San, especially as Ce had seen someone have their passport swiped a few weeks before from the same place. We decided to get a taxi straight to the airport, and then had to wait another torturous 18 hrs until our flight left!
When we got to Tokyo we couldn't believe how small everyone was! And apparently judging by the stares that we were getting they couldn't believe how tall we were! Tokyo is very hectic everywhere you go, with 12.6 million people living here you can imagine what it must be like. We enjoyed sushi on the rotating converbelts which was confusing to say the least...but rather yummy all the same! We also went to see a panaromic view of Tokyo and neither of us could quite believe how big and crammed in it all was, and both felt like tiny insignificant dots in it all.
Electric City is full of every type of electronic item that you could ever possibly want, and much cheaper and more advanced than at home, of course! We have also been to the Sony Centre where they boast every amazing invention Sony have ever made.
Last night was also exciting as we found the Park Hyatt Hotel (the hotel featured in Lost in Translation). It is extremely posh and we looked like tramps compared to the others in there! We went up to the bar that they drink in in the film, on the 52nd floor - amazing views! They did look us up and down as we stepped out of the lift but nevertheless we were allowed entry....unfortunately we couldn't afford the cover charge for the evening so we couldn't drink in there but all the same at least they didn't turn us away! Our last day tomorrow should be good and we plan to go out for a scrumptious meal at the Hard Rock Cafe - not very Japanese we know but hey!
Looking forward to seeing you all again, and most of all a comfy bed!!
Lots of love xxxxx
