Pretty relieved to be leaving Penang, we tak the mini bus up to the Cameron Highlands. Despite the lack of heat and humidity it was very beautiful, with vast views of the hills and tea plantations. Dinner that evening was an experience to say the least. Went to a local restaurant and sampled the traditional "Steamboat". Basically it is two different soups placed in the middle of the table, and when boiling you just add noodles, chicken, beef, fish, squid, prawns, egg or veg! They cook in the soup, it was actualy delicious, I would reccomend it.
The next day was... interesting I guess! The day started off innocently enough, we got the mini bus to the local tea plantation, set n over 600 acres. Had a tour of the factory, and tea and scones for a late breakfats. The next part of the trip was to be a Jungle trek. Little did we know this in fact meant a 4 hour hike through torrential rain, mud slides, and up almost vertical cliffs!! It was tough going, once you got used to the slippery mud, but it was good to get some exercise! That said, we were all incredibly glad to pile back into the bus to go back, only for it to break down, 5 minutes later. lol. Well, like I said, the day was interesting. Although the shower I had when we got back was the BEST I have ever had!
Had a couple of good nights out in the Cameron Highlands too, went to a little place called the Jungle bar, a really cute, hippy place. (Caz)
