A short one believe it or not!We have been in Cairns for a couple of months now basically working, drinking and playing football.We played football most Sundays on the esplanade in a 5-a-side tournament for all the hostels in Cairns which is very hot but good fun.There are always loads of places to go out and they all have good deals on. One pub actually gives away free drinks for an hour on a Sunday night and then puts them up to $2!We always make the most of that as you can imagine but it's a bit smelly in there so we make a quick exit.

Annie and I all had our birthdays around the same time, so that was a fun couple of weeks.We spent a day by the lagoon and had a BBQ on Annie's birthday and went out on the reef to a lovely island for both of our birthdays.We got a boat over and made a fridge under the sand with ice cubes for all the beer and cheap wine.We chilled out all day and did lots of snorkeling with turtles, fish and coral, Annie was even lucky or unlucky enough to spot a shark.We walked the whole way around the island in the afternoon and spent the rest of the time drinking wine in the shallow water.A perfect day!

We had our last night out last night and did it in style; we are leaving tomorrow morning heading south in a camper van stopping off in all the great places on the way. It will be sad to leave Cairns, we have had a great time here and got quite settled into the way of life but I am really looking forward to the journey ahead.
