Went to Rottnest Island today from Fremantle, was a nice day out. I hired a bike for a couple of hours and managed to stay on it..took a look round the island. It has a lot of wildlife and famous for the quokka a small animal that looks a bit like an overgrown rat but cute and friendly.

Didn;t get a chance to see much of Fremantle so will have to go back there to check out the markets. Everything shuts here at 5pm, i missed the supermarkets so went to McD's as a desperate measure and it was shutting at 7pm - only manged to get some chips. Actually haven;t managed to have a decent meal since i got here :(

Met a Japanese friend Naoko at the hostel and we are going to try to go to the zoo and King's Park tomorrow. I am so tired must be all that bike riding..there were a lot of hills and i wasn;t sure how to work the gears.
