I awoke at 4:30am unable to get myself back to sleep! So I made myself a lovely cup of earl grey and had a bath. Me and Erol left at 7am in the end - he was awake and ready for work. Woke up at 7am feeling jet lagged! Chatted to Caz from 8-9am then fell back asleep until 2pm. Me and Erol chatted and organised stuff at about 3pm - he's dropping me at the car rental place tomorrow at 9am so I can rent a car to drive to Aspen! Had some peanut butter on toast and 3 cups of earl grey tea before having a shower and heading to Sloan's Lake. Funny things that happened at the airport: 1. Saying hello to a vacant-looking bystander because I thought he was the security control man to check my passport! 2. Tip: when scanning passport for self-check-in make sure it's on the scanner - not the tray that gives you your boarding passes. 3. The actual security control man asked Caz about her TENS machine that was plugged in near to her handbag. He said "what's that?" And she said "it's my handbag!" Hahaha.....

I sat next to a lovely Spanish guy called Luis on my connecting flight who was worried about his mum a few rows in front of us. Mainly because she was hungry and because her English isn't good. He thought that the flight was 2 hours rather than the gruelling 4 of the body clock early AM that it actually was (as he hadn't considered the time difference!) his English was really good and we talked about our languages. London > JFK I sat next to a woman called Derah, whom I now know more about than I know about myself! She was lovely; 36 and separated with a 2 year old child whom she has not had a day apart from until now. Might explain the 4 cabin-size Sauvignons she got through at lightning speed.
