Woke up at 7am feeling jet lagged! Chatted to Caz from 8-9am then fell back asleep until 2pm.
Me and Erol chatted and organised stuff at about 3pm - he's dropping me at the car rental place tomorrow at 9am so I can rent a car to drive to Aspen!
Had some peanut butter on toast and 3 cups of earl grey tea before having a shower and heading to Sloan's Lake. It's a beautiful place about 2 miles in circumference, though I detoured to Target where I looked around and got overwhelmed by the amount of stuff that was there! It's like Tesco on a huge scale... And that's saying something! Got overwhelmed; bought nothing.
I watched the sun setting behind the mountains, which was beautiful. I tentatively took a selfie, knowing that a fisherman had placed his rods carefully on the pier where I was standing. He waved to signal that it was fine and just a 'thank you!' In a British accent sparked off a huge conversation about Europe and about life. He offered me a mini bottle of brandy and a nice camping seat to sit in! Which I later found out was Tyrone's (his brother.) his name was Keith and he was fishing with Tyrone for the evening. Keith lived and worked in Belgium for 22 years so he was keen to find out where I was from and what I did. I must have stopped to chat for 2 hours before I headed back home at about 9:30pm.
I had scrambled egg on toast and a bath before talking to Erol for ages. Turns out he went to Exeter Uni like me - and was there when I was from 2007-2008. Crazy times!
I am in bed now - it is 11pm and I am looking forward to tomorrow and renting a car! Bit scared too - they drive on the wrong side of the road. Thought they call it the right side, of course.
Goodnight from across the pond x
