SEPTEMBER 26TH 2006: Arrived in Singapore late evening. Where did Tuesday go? (part of it went on Cathryn's hangover, part of it was time difference!)) Jen thankfully found Cathryn wandering around somewhere in Terminal 1 on Singapore airport. SEPTEMBER 27TH 2006: Braved the heat & humidity but resulted in mild insanity as we "forgot" to eat until about 4pm! Went on a city buzz tour of singapore but missed our stop so saw china town twice! Got soaked in the rain but Cathryn still managed to get sunburnt - how English!! We have now mastered the fact that to survive in the far east you always need to keep an eye out for the nearest supply of air con!! Jet lagged kicked in so not much sleep for Cathryn - but fortunately she was still being polite enough to not take it out on Jen. SEPTEMBER 28TH 2006: Slept in! (see previous entry on jet lag) Mastered the local bus system of Singapore all the while dehydrating at a fast rate. Found the perfect place for a first date - Mount Faber. Arrive by (scary) cable car on which fine dining is available if your stomach can tolerate! Followed by singapore sling in an open bar whilst enjoying the views of the oil tankers and the genetically modified goldfish!! BUT.... save plastic fantastic sentosa island until you have a 5 year old child with above date!!! if the not-so-fantastic fountain master of sentosa island has not already been shot, then please do take a sniper rifle with you. we wer not still jet lagged - he really was that annoying!! Another nutritious day was rounded off with cream of cauliflower soup back at the not so cheap hostel bistro!
